What MoneyCalc Is
MoneyCalc is a free calculator website built for people in the United Kingdom and the United States. We put simple, accurate tools in one place so you can answer everyday money, health and maths questions in seconds — no sign-up, no downloads, and nothing to pay.
You can work out your UK take-home pay after tax and National Insurance, check what your US paycheck will actually look like after federal and state deductions, estimate a mortgage payment or overpayment, and see what a car loan or PCP deal really costs over its full term. Alongside the money tools you’ll find savings and retirement calculators, a debt payoff planner, and everyday tools such as BMI, calorie, age and percentage calculators.
Why We Built It
Most of us meet these questions at important moments: a new job offer, a first mortgage, a car on finance, a savings goal. The official answers exist, but they’re often buried in dense government web pages or locked inside complicated spreadsheets. We wanted one calm, plain-English place where you type in your numbers and get a clear answer — with the working shown, so you can understand and trust the result.
How We Keep Our Calculators Accurate
Accuracy is the whole point of a calculator, so we take it seriously:
- Official sources. Tax rates, thresholds and allowances come from official publications — HMRC and GOV.UK for UK tools, the IRS and state revenue departments for US tools.
- Updated every tax year. When rates change for a new tax year (for example the UK 2026/27 year), we update the affected calculators and show the tax year each tool is based on.
- Tested examples. Before a calculator goes live, we check its results against worked examples from official guidance and reputable references.
- Corrections welcome. If you ever spot a figure that looks wrong, tell us — fixing errors quickly is part of how we stay trustworthy.
One honest note: our calculators give estimates for planning and education. Tax and finance depend on personal circumstances, so for big decisions it’s worth confirming your figures with a qualified adviser. See our Disclaimer for more detail.
Who Runs MoneyCalc
MoneyCalc is run by a small independent team. We’re not a bank, a lender or a financial advice firm — we build tools. We don’t sell financial products, and we don’t earn commissions for steering you towards any company. The site is supported by advertising, which is what lets us keep every calculator free.
